Arrowsmith (Zed)

How he came to our family:
     Our friends had the last litter with their Berner girl Pia (Eris vom Schönen Schwarzatal). Out of curiosity how 4 weeks old Berners looked like, we came to see them one beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon. We saw a bunch of little Berner puppies waiting for us in the garden. Zed (then called "Debeli" - means fat) approached us first,ready to play and we fell in love immediately.

And, who wouldn't?

For the next two weeks we straggled on the subject of taking him or not...
We were planning to get a friend for Aaron, but not so soon...
And of course you now how this story ends... we just couldn't resist that little cute look of his.

     At two months old he was ready to come to his new family, our family. He was a little sad living his family for the first couple of days but Aaron helped him a lot (as we did too). How Aaron and Zed became two best Berner friends you can see in the gallery.

     Now Zed is two years old and has grown into a big (!!!) puppy. He is taller then Aaron (and most Berners), he's about 75 cm tall and weighs about 56 kilos (we weighted him 2nd November 2007).
He has all the energy in the world and doesn't let Aaron have almost any sleep over the day. If they are not in the house they can play, run etc. all day long.

     He is not like Aaron. He's not afraid of anything, very stubborn but learns very fest (something Aaron also does). They have a lot of mutually qualities but, are also so different.

He has the look of a little devil with those big brown dots on his head.
He's very friendly with dogs as well as people.
Just loves to have all the attention (doesn't matter who gives it, Aaron or we).
Absolutely loves to play, even with himself - when he takes some toy and nobody wants to play with him he throws the toy around and catches it himself. :-D
     Zed je izrastao iz male bebe u veliku bebu. Mora uvijek imati kontakt sa nama, pa tako najviše voli kada mu je šapa, glava, uho... na našim nogama dok spava, ili još bolje da je cijeli u krilu. Unatoč tome što je veći od prosječnog Bernera, on nije svjestan svoje veličine pa se tako još uvijek voli uvaliti u krilo, skakati od sreće, davati šapom svojom snagom... :-D

      He finished 1st grade of Nesi obedience school when he was only 2 and a half months old. We go to weekly trainings as often as we can, and regularly got to agility every week.
He already went to his first exhibition in the class of babies (he was 3 months old at the time) and got Very promising (5).

With two years he still has a puppy look :-D

          He's really close with our parat Čupkica. Most people would say that a giant dog couldn't be friends with such a small creator as our parrot, but Zed proves them wrong. He is gentle and patient with her. They spent every day together, Čupkica talks to him, walks all over him, they sleep together on the floor, the bed... they are truly friends. :-D
Čupkica is older than both of our Berners, she came into our family even before Gibb (our first dog) so she has lived with dogs almost all of her life. That is why we sometimes think that even she thinks she is a dog because she is always on the floor with them, she runs over the floor, sometimes even rather than flying. :)
