He's very careful and doesn't trust everybody.
He chooses his friends carefully, but the ones he loves, he would defend with his life. He's closest
friends are Zed and Newfoundland Api, whit whom he loves to play. The older he gets the more he
wants to work with me in our daily walks, and less to play with the other dogs (except Zed). He's
happiest when I give him something to do, no matter if it's as simple as a basic command like "sit",
"lay down", "paw", or something more... Also, the older he is the more he wants our attention, he
loves to coddle and can do so for hours.
Since Zed became part of our family, Aron looks very carefully after him. He doesn't let bad
dogs near him because Zed is his "little brother" now. :-D
He is very patient with him. Their relationship hasn't changed from when Zed was a puppy. Actually it grew even stronger.
Zed can do anything to him, bite him and try to annoy him like any little brother,
but Aron will put up with it with no remark. Zed is now used to bite Aron on his rear lags (if his standing)
or on the head/neck when he wants Aron to play with him, any in the end Aron gives up or we tell Zed to stop
and leave Aron alone.
Although he is shy and doesn't trust easily, he and I have created a very
strong bond and he has complete trust in me. He knows I wouldn't do anything to him that isn't for his own
good. The medical things are the biggest problems. Any foreign objects must not go near him, but when I'm
around, he can put up with a little of anything.
As any other Bernese, he's a one man dog when it comes to 100% obedience. He loves the family and will
eventually listen to anyone of them, but when I give a command he knows it must be done at once. :-D.
He's extremely smart and a fast learner. Already as a puppy he surmounted
the basic commands. Today he knows lots of them like "sit", "paw", "bark", "wait", "give me five", "stand",
"let’s go", "lay down", "play dead", "bow" and many other commands that we use daily.
He went to a few exhibitions - CACIB Varaždin 2005 as a puppy he got promising
(because it was his and mine first exhibition ever, he didn't want to show his teeht so the judge gave him promising),
CAC Križevci only a few weeks later after some practicing a now one exhibition behind us, he got Very Promising (5),
and on CAC mobor he got his first grade in youth class - excellent 5, CACIB Varaždin 2006 - intermediate class - he
also got excellent 5 after which in autumn on CACIB Zagreb 2006 he got excellent and his first R.CAC! Every time
in high competition. Maybe if we had practiced more he could have passed with a higher place, but I'm not much of
an handler but I also didn't want anyone else who was more experienced to handle him.
He finished 1. class of
Nesi - dog owners education center nd the 3. & 4. summer school in Nesi. He was very good and well-behaved.
We learned all that we had to and much more afterwards.
We also went to a few months of agility classes, but the class is not closed indefinitely for some time.
So we're waiting for it to start again...
